Taylor Swift fans are eagerly flocking to her website to buy items from her holiday collection, which includes ornaments, holiday décor, sweatshirts, and adorable accessories.
Even though many Swifties have already spent hundreds or even thousands on tickets for her Eras Tour, which concludes next month, her fans are seizing the chance to support the 34-year-old pop star and grab some exclusive merchandise.
The collection has certainly sparked demand, with some users on X mentioning that items were selling out so fast that they were marked “sold out” even while still in their online shopping carts.
“Y’all are too fast,” one user tweeted, expressing disappointment over missing the chance to buy a $25 cowboy hat ornament, referencing her song “Cowboy Like Me,” and a $15 ghost ornament inspired by Swift’s 2022 “Anti-Hero” music video.
Another fan confessed that the stress from the holiday merch drop made them feel “violently sick” since the announcement, worried about how quickly it would sell out.
A third fan even took issue with Taylor Nation, Swift’s official management team, for not giving enough advance notice for fans to take time off work in order to shop the collection.
Some Swifties who successfully bought everything they wanted shared photos of their carts and receipts, with purchases ranging from $15 to $899.
“‘Tis the damn season for my bank to cancel my card,” joked one user after spending about $258.65 on the holiday collection.
After treating themselves to some shopping on Swift’s official site, another fan quoted a lyric from Swift’s 2020 song “The 1” off Folklore to explain their purchase.
“In my defense, I have none,” they said, while another joked that the “damage” to their bank account had “been done” after spending $445.60 on merchandise.
One dedicated Swiftie, Molly, shared that since the Reputation tour six years ago, she has been saving money every month just to afford new merch and concert tickets.
“All the new Swiftmas ornaments were secured! Can’t wait to watch the Swiftmas tree grow!!!” she exclaimed after completing her purchase.
In response to criticism about spending so much on the holiday collection, Molly reminded others on social media that “there’s literally no reason to drag someone or be mean” for buying things that bring them joy.
Sharp-eyed fans have already started trying to uncover any hidden clues or Easter eggs that Swift or her team might have included on the site or in the collection.
“Almost every lyric from every era in this merch drop references stars and moons, and everything features stars, even when it doesn’t seem to make sense,” one Reddit user pointed out.
They added, “I’m not sure what it means, but I think we’re supposed to focus on the stars, and I don’t think it’s just for the Holidays.”
There are more than 11 examples in the collection that support this theory, which earned over 85 likes from other Reddit users.
Some fans voiced disappointment over the high prices of many items, particularly the $50 butterfly tote bag from the debut collection.
Prices for items in the collection range from $15 to $120.
On the morning of the release, Taylor Nation posted a one-hour countdown with a message that said, “Meet us under the mistletoe in one hour!”
Typically, Swift has launched her Swiftmas merchandise on November 13, exactly one month before her birthday.
Last year, Swift’s website crashed within minutes as fans rushed to buy merchandise, including cardigans and a highly sought-after snow globe.
