Selena Gomez continues to impress with her fashion choices on the red carpet this fall.

On Monday, September 30, the actress and singer, 32, made a striking entrance at the New York City premiere of her new film, Emilia Pérez, which also features Zoe Saldaña and Karla Sofía Gascón.

At the screening held at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center during the New York Film Festival, Gomez donned an elegant all-black Vera Wang dress with a subtle cowl neckline and a large bow at the back. She complemented the outfit with detachable elbow-length black sleeves.

To complete her look, the actress adorned herself with dangling diamond earrings, numerous sparkling silver rings, and styled her hair in a sleek bun as she posed alongside her co-stars Saldaña, Adriana Paz, Gascón, and Edgar Ramírez.

Gomez walked the carpet alone but was later joined by her boyfriend, Benny Blanco, inside Alice Tully Hall. The couple recently attended the 2024 Emmys together, both donning matching glittery all-black outfits as she celebrated her nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Comedy Series for Only Murders in the Building.

Emilia Pérez, a Spanish-language musical film written and directed by French filmmaker Jacques Audiard, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, where it won two awards, including Best Actress for its ensemble cast of women.

The film’s synopsis states, “This odyssey, filled with liberating song and dance and striking visuals, follows the journey of four extraordinary women in Mexico, each seeking their own happiness.”

In the story, the formidable cartel leader Emilia recruits Rita (Saldaña), an undervalued lawyer trapped in a dead-end job, to assist her in faking her death, allowing Emilia to finally embrace her true self.

Since then, Gomez has been promoting the film in style. Earlier this month, she attended its premiere on September 9 at the Toronto Film Festival, wearing a black sequin rosette-adorned Rodarte dress and Tiffany & Co. jewelry, styled by Erin Walsh.

At the event, the Rare Beauty founder shared with PEOPLE about her character Jessi Del Monte, the wife of drug cartel leader Emilia Pérez (Gascón). Jessi attempts to fake her death “so that Emilia can finally embrace her true self,” as described in the film’s synopsis.

“It was actually really interesting because I ultimately ended up getting to develop a character who is very similar to myself,” she shared.

“And actually, I believe a lot of Latinx communities in America. I think it’s also everywhere. But I, I’m just really, I’m really glad that we were able to make her Latin American because that’s who I am,” she added.

Emilia Pérez is in theaters on Nov. 1 and out on Netflix on Nov. 13.
