Toprak Razgatlioglu sets the pace at Magny-Cours as BMW secures a 1-2-3 finish in Free Practice One.

Following a month-long break, the World Superbike Championship resumes at Magny-Cours. Toprak Razgatlioglu, who dominated the last round at Portimao, appears poised for another strong performance in France.

In the first World Superbike practice session, Razgatlioglu once again leads the pack, holding a half-second advantage over the rest of the field.

Rounding out the top three were two more BMW riders. Garrett Gerloff secured second place on the Bonovo Action BMW, while Michael van der Mark claimed third on the factory ROKiT BMW.

The Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team had a solid showing with Nicolo Bulega finishing fourth and the recently re-signed Alvaro Bautista taking fifth.

Alex Lowes was the fastest Kawasaki rider in the opening Free Practice session. The British rider, currently 10 points shy of the top three in the Championship, is aiming to close that gap this weekend.

Jonathan Rea was the highest-placed Yamaha rider, finishing seventh. Rea not only led the Yamaha contingent but was also the only Yamaha rider to break into the top ten in Free Practice One.

Danilo Petrucci, who had one of his strongest WorldSBK performances last time out at Portimao, ended Free Practice One in eighth place on his Barni Spark Racing Team bike.

The fourth BMW rider, Scott Redding, also made it into the top ten. Despite not having a ride secured for 2025, the British rider finished Free Practice One in ninth place.

Closing out the top ten was Michael Ruben Rinaldi, who is facing challenges and appears to be leaving Ducati at the end of 2024. He needs a strong performance this weekend to secure a contract for 2025.
