In recent weeks, Hozier has generated considerable excitement with a series of enigmatic teasers. A preliminary snippet of his new single, “Nobody’s Soldier,” appeared on setlist.fm, sparking intense curiosity among fans. The track made its global debut during Hozier’s headline performance at Lollapalooza, held on the Bud Light Stage in Chicago on August 1st.
The “Unaired EP,” released on August 16th, features three previously unreleased tracks recorded during the sessions for his chart-topping album “Unreal Unearth.” In addition to “Nobody’s Soldier,” the EP includes “July,” produced by Jeff ‘Gitty’ Gitelman (Anderson .Paak, H.E.R.), and “That You Are,” produced by Gus Seyffert (Beck, Michael Kiwanuka) and featuring Syrian-American folk artist Bedouine.
Hozier expressed his gratitude to fans in a personal note, acknowledging their support over the past year. He highlighted the EP’s tracks: “Nobody’s Soldier,” which some may have heard live, “July,” a companion piece to “Wildflower and Barley,” and “That You Are,” a collaborative effort with Bedouine.
Following his recent achievements, including his first UK number 1 album with “Unreal Unearth,” which also topped the charts in Ireland, Hozier has seen tremendous success. His single “Too Sweet” from the “Unheard EP” outperformed Beyoncé and Benson Boone, amassing 1.6 billion global streams and earning a VMA nomination for Best Alternative Song.
Hozier’s prominence in the music industry was further solidified with sold-out performances at London’s Finsbury Park, Dublin’s Marlay Park, Glasgow Green, and Lytham Festival. He will continue touring across the US and Canada through August and September before heading to Australia and New Zealand in November.
