Netflix is creating a docuseries by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson that investigates allegations of sex trafficking, racketeering, sexual assault, and violent abuse against Sean “Diddy” Combs. Directed by Alexandria Stapleton, the project is currently in production.

“In this story, we address significant human impact. It’s a complex narrative that spans decades, going beyond the headlines and clips that have been presented so far,” 50 Cent and Stapleton shared in an exclusive statement to Variety. “We are committed to amplifying the voices of those who are often unheard and to providing authentic and nuanced viewpoints. While the allegations are troubling, it’s important to remember that Sean Combs’ story doesn’t encompass the entirety of hip-hop and its culture. We want to ensure that individual actions don’t eclipse the broader contributions of the culture.”

50 Cent serves as an executive producer through his G-Unit Film & Television label, while Stapleton takes on the role of executive producer for House of Nonfiction, with Texas Crew Productions also involved in the production.

50 Cent initially revealed that G-Unit would be producing the docuseries in early December, around the time when Combs was facing lawsuits from four different women, starting with his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, whose lawsuit triggered a series of claims against him and was quickly settled. At that time, 50 Cent posted a clip on X featuring Bad Boy Records rapper Mark Curry, who accused Combs of spiking champagne bottles at his parties before women consumed them. The rapper-producer stated that the proceeds from the documentary will be directed toward supporting victims of sexual assault.

Just last week, Combs was arrested in New York and charged with three offenses: racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking through force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation for prostitution. He pleaded not guilty but remains in custody after his bail was denied during an appeal hearing.

Additionally, Combs has faced multiple lawsuits. In February, former employee Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones claimed that Combs made unwanted sexual advances and pressured him to hire and engage with sex workers in 2023. Jones was later referenced in an April lawsuit by Grace O’Marcaigh, who alleged that while working as a steward on a yacht, Combs’ son, Christian “King” Combs, forced her to perform oral sex on him and that Combs paid the yacht’s captain to keep the incident quiet. In May, model Crystal McKinney accused Combs of drugging and sexually assaulting her in 2003, and earlier this month, former Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard filed a lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs for verbal abuse, assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

In May, CNN reported on a leaked video showing Combs grabbing, shoving, and kicking Cassie in a hotel. A few days later, he stated that he took “full responsibility” for his actions depicted in the video.

That was his first and only admission of wrongdoing. Prior to that, he had denied all allegations, posting a statement on social media in December that read, “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.” In the statement, Combs expressed, “For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation, and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family, and for the truth.” Although this post is no longer visible on his Instagram account, it remains pinned to the top of his X (formerly Twitter) account as of this article’s publication.

Moreover, following a Homeland Security raid on his properties in Los Angeles and Miami in March, he shared the video for his 1998 song “Victory” on Instagram, featuring scenes of him running from the police, captioning it with “Bad Boy for life.”

This marks Netflix’s first official acknowledgment of its involvement in the series, although 50 Cent had previously talked about the project with The Hollywood Reporter in July.
