In 2025, Metallica’s ‘M72 World Tour’ will be in its third year, featuring 21 shows across North America.
Metallica, featuring frontman James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, guitarist Kirk Hammett, and bassist Rob Trujillo, continues to tour in support of their latest studio album 72 Seasons. Their M72 World Tour is heading into its third year, with a series of 21 shows scheduled across North America in April, May, and June 2025.
Nasty Little Man PR’s press release announces:
“Metallica has confirmed the extension of its record-breaking M72 World Tour into a third year, with 21 North American shows scheduled for April, May, and June 2025.
Tickets for the newly announced No Repeat Weekends and single-night engagements will be available starting September 27 at 10 a.m. local time. Fan club pre-sales begin September 23 at 10 a.m. local time. For more information on tickets, enhanced experiences, travel packages, and more, visit https://metallica.lnk.to/M72WorldTour2025.
Since the tour’s April 2023 kickoff in Amsterdam, M72 has drawn approximately three million fans. Critics have praised the tour as “an altogether life-affirming experience” (Billboard), “impossible to leave unsatisfied” (Austin Chronicle), “a stone-cold stunner of a show” (Detroit News), “the mother of all summer concerts” (Worcester Telegram Gazette), and “as tight and furious as Metallica has sounded in ages” (Los Angeles Times). The tour’s 2024 leg will end with four shows at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros, where Metallica will perform for over 250,000 fans over two No Repeat Weekends.
In 2025, the M72 World Tour will continue the No Repeat Weekend tradition, offering entirely different setlists and support acts each night. The tour includes Metallica’s first Nashville shows in five years at Nissan Stadium on May 1 and 3, and their first Tampa appearance in 15 years at Raymond James Stadium on June 6 and 8. The band will also make its hometown Bay Area debut at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on June 20 and 22.
In a twist, M72 2025 will also include several single-show performances, bringing the tour’s massive in-the-round stage to venues like JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York, on April 19, and Metallica’s first-ever visit to Blacksburg, Virginia, for a May 7 show at Lane Stadium, home of the Virginia Tech Hokies. The Hokies’ entrance to “Enter Sandman” will culminate over two decades of tradition at that game.
In addition to stadium shows, the 2025 M72 itinerary includes two festival headliners: April 12 at Sick New World at Las Vegas Festival Grounds and a No Repeat Weekend on May 9 and 11 at Sonic Temple at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
Supporting acts for the 2025 North American run will include Pantera, Limp Bizkit, Suicidal Tendencies, and Ice Nine Kills. Details are listed below.
Further, M72 2025 will see Metallica’s highly anticipated return to Australia and New Zealand. Stay tuned to https://www.metallica.com/ for more updates.”
The 2025 North American leg of Metallica’s M72 World Tour is produced by Live Nation and presented by new sponsor inKind. inKind offers rewards to diners who use its app to pay at over 2,000 top-rated restaurants across the U.S., providing innovative financing that supports the sustainability and success of participating restaurants.
